A year ago today I was less than two months away from graduating from college, and I wasn't sure where I was going to end up or what I was going to be doing.
By the end of the summer, my job search brought me to Solid Cactus. I started as a Technical Writer in the Internet Marketing department,
where I began learning the ins and outs of Search Marketing. I was immediately attracted to Search Marketing because it coupled some of my favorite activities:
writing, researching and online shopping! After focusing almost exclusively on keyword research and ad writing for several months, I took on the task of managing accounts.
As a Search Engine Marketing Manager, I not only build the accounts, but I take on the day to day management for our clients.
I don't like to be bored, so Search Marketing has been a perfect fit for me. Each account is full of unique products and unique challenges.
I've found myself researching everything from fragrance lamps to sororities to midwife supplies! As a writer, I don't think there is a greater challenge than trying to entice shoppers in under 70 characters.
Can we really create meaningful messages and relate offers in such limited space? Sometimes it seems like an impossible task,
but that won't keep me from trying! When I finally get the right ad paired with the right keywords, the results feel like magic.
I also love the people of Search Marketing. The open atmosphere of sharing and learning has helped me to expand my knowledge as I share what I know with others.
The Internet Marketing department at Solid Cactus is filled with some of the most motivated, intelligent and friendly people I have ever met.
The teamwork and dedication that I've found here inspire me to be my very best and I hope to continue in the world of Search Marketing for a long time to come.
